![]() LTK laser steepen eye cornea Laser Thermal Keratoplasty (LTK) uses a laser energy beam to reshape the cornea, the outer layer of the eye. During SUNRISE LTK procedure, there is no contact to your eyes. The doctor don't have to cut the cornea like lasik and don't even have to touches your eye along the procedure. Only the laser beam that made contact to your cornea and instrument to hold your eye lid open. This is why the procedure sometimes called LTK presbyopia treatment ,not surgery. The SUNRISE LTK Procedure is very fast, the laser application takes about three seconds per eye. During LTK procedure, the laser pulses are controlled to spot at the cornea outside of your visual axis, The laser energy will shrinks the collagen fibers and make center part of the cornea steeper. The steeper curvature will increases the cornea's focusing power and bring the lights into proper focus on the retina which result in better image vision. The amount of correction can be determined by the number of laser spots applied (see the picture), the laser energy level and the age of the patient. A bandage soft contact lens will be placed on the eye until the following day. Theere may be some irritation in our eye for the first few days and will be better after that. ![]() LTK concentric laser shrink eye cornea The actual goal of LTK is to reduce your dependence on glasses or contact lenses. It cannot guarantee you will get the perfaect vision results. Another thing to remind you is that LTK does not stop the eye aging process, which cause dissipation to the effect of the initial procedure over time. However, LTK presbyopia treatment can last atleast 10 years. |
